Growing up in the quaint suburban neighbourhood of Kolkata where his world comprised of grandmother’s tales, Bengali novels and gradually group Theatre and Film club screenings his mind was slowly shaping up to speak to the world about everything he was experiencing. Sudeep Chatterjee is an Indian cinematographer based in Mumbai. He was trained at the prestigious Film and Television Institute of India, Pune.

He is largely known for his diverse range of films from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s grand period dramas Gangubai Kathiawadi, Padmavat and Bajirao Mastani to the edgy handheld Chak De India to the nuanced Guzaarish to the blockbuster action caper Dhoom 3 to indie films like Dor, Iqbal and Chotushkone. He has been awarded the prestigious national award twice apart from the numerous awards for his work on various films.

Sudeep loves teaching and is associated with various film schools where he conducts workshops on cinematography.
